Private Bookings Only

When you book with me it is always a private booking, it will only be me, you, and your group, so the price is set accordingly.

When you make a booking I will always set aside a minimum of 3-4 hours of my day for you depending on the tour but we can adapt this to your schedule.

The starting price for all the tours is between 23.000 – 30.000 ISK depending on the tour
This starting price applies to a group of 1-4 people
Children under 12 years of age are free.
– Every hour added is another 10.000 ISK.

Entry into museums or other places is always optional and not included in the price.

The pre-set starting times are 09:00 AM and 13:00 PM.
But odds are I can adapt to your schedule if you contact me directly through email: olof@beicelandic.is

When it comes to the nitty-gritty details of the tour I always try to be as flexible as possible, after all, it is your holiday. But here are some details which may answer your questions:

Where do we meet?

Depending on the type of tour and what you want to see:

City Center Tours
– I will pick you up at your hotel or apartment if it is in the city center. If not, there are a number of Café’s and easy to find landmarks where we can start out from.

City Nature Walks
– I will meet you in the parking lot closest to our walking area and will give you coordinates on Google Maps.

Age and accessibility?

– I will adapt the speed, length, and difficulty of the terrain, to your needs as best I can.
– I will need to know about any limitations beforehand so that I can plan accordingly.
– Kids are welcome, let me know so I can adapt the tour with their interests and needs in mind.

It goes without saying:
– Hiking up a mountain is not wheelchair or baby stroller accessible.
However, most of the center of Reykjavík is easy to move around and many of the paths in the nature walks are paved, so if you let me know ahead of time I can make sure we don’t run into problems.

– I don’t control the weather and it can be difficult, especially for younger children, dress for the Icelandic weather, especially the wind.
This means wearing layers, waterproof boots, windproof jackets, hats and gloves, even in the summer 🙂

What to Wear?

The weather in Iceland is difficult to say the least.
I would always check the forecast for the day, on the day, because if you try to plan ahead odds are the weather will change.
I will wear layers and take off or put on as needed.

To give you an idea, this is what I have in my backpack most of the year:
Water bottle + snacks
Binoculars
Headlight
Sunglasses
Buff x2
Heat pack (activates when opened)
Warm hat + gloves
Icelandic wool sweater (Like these)
Winter trousers and jacket
Waterproof jacket and trousers
Spare socks

Optional extra:
Hiking poles
Snow cleats for hiking boots (so I don’t slip on the Ice around the waterfalls)
